Frequent asked questions about Specialized Kinesiology

Many questions will be answered, many will not. When you have the time you may get more inside informatioin on Applied Kinesiology at massagenerd.com

Basic to all Applied Kinesiology and Specialized kinesiology is the notion of the correlation between 14 (42/48) muscles, the 12 main meridians and 2 extra meridians, and the 14 organ-systems in Traditional Chinese Medicin (TCM). [end]

    • What is Specialized Kinesiology? – Specialized Kinesiology is “the art of assessing the personal way of thinking feeling emoting handling of energy flows of a person by using precision muscle testing. Manual muscle testing is used as a biofeedback mechanism. Using the same feedback, a Specialized Kinesiologist identifies appropriate protocoles for promoting, restoring and maintaining balance within the body”.

    • What is Touch for Health? – Touch for Health was created by John F. Thie, D.C. (1933-2005). The first Manual was published in 1973 and launched a worldwide movement in a holistic approach to health which teaches the restoring of our natural energies. It is a practical guide to natural health using acupressure, touch and massage to improve postural balance and reduce physical and mental pain and tension.Bottomline: Touch for Health is a closed system for First aid using Applied/Specialized kinesiology knowledge to bring a person back into a state of balance. [end]

    • What is Three in One Concepts? – Gordon Stokes, Daniel Whiteside and Candace Calloway of Three-In-One Concepts have done a great deal of work in the area of emotional diffusion and advanced re-patterning. This kind of stress release of past trauma frees the person to get on with his or her life. Their courses in Three-In-One Concepts can bring about profound positive changes in people and have anchorpoints in NLP. The basic workshops One Brain and Advanced One Brain are similar to Edu Kinesiology but with a twist. The twist being precision muscle testing.Using the Behavioral Barometer and Structure Function Procedures the practitioner is bringing infromation on the table the clients unconscious is struggling with. With these notions in pauselock or retentionmode the impact of these corrections is many fold.Bottom line: Defuse what has been fused under stress and trauma.[end]
    • What is Applied Physiology? – Richard Utt designed this way of kinesiology with Acupuncture (14 meridian) system in mind. Every protocol he designed is based on the premises that 14 muscles (42/48) have a direct relation to the 12 main meridians (vessels) and 2 of the 8 extra vessel from the Acupuncture System.Although this is a basic assumption for all applied/specialized kinesiology Richard figured out the Hologram aspect of this method.Bottom line: Brain, blood and organs – when visualized – can be addressed and changes in that organ can be made.[end]

    • What is an indicator change? To understand what an indicator change is, you have to understand the phenomenon “indicator”. Any muscle test performed is displaying a state of  “week”, “strong” or “blocked”. The pure observation of this state gives you a baseline from which your further testing is monitored, so this baseline is the indicator. The indicator muscle is the muscle you use for testing.

    • What is Manual Muscle Testing?Manual muscle testing (also muscle monitoring) is the act of engaging in a dialogue with body mind spirit connection. [end]

    • What is Precision Muscle Testing? – With precision muscle testing you use very light muscle testing, and you test from contraction to extension and vice versa, and other positions possible. [end]

    • What is “Weak” versus “Strong”? – A “strong” muscle test is defined by a limb not moving when tested. A “weak” muscle test is defined by a moving limb, when tested. Be aware of the possibility of a muscle test  being “locked”, that is when the body mind spirit connection has problem of letting things go.Have you ever noticed that a person who tests “weak” is still capable of using full muscle strength. Meaning s/he is still able to walk, talk and do the things s/he normally does? This brings me to my present explanation and work method for interpreting this “weak”/”locked”-state.When I encounter a “locked”-state I refer to the notion the conscious is struggling with a specific issue that needs to be addressed. When I recognize a “weak”-state I refer to a state where the conscious has no influence anymore on the the other-then-conscious. The person is tranced-out and is acting on auto-pilot. With this state I first and for all look for what driver is pulling the strings. I gladly refer to Stephen Wolinsky proclaims in his book “Trances People Live“.In any case the goal of my work is to level this out problem using the techniques I have available.Working to a state of “strong” and reacting perfectly on the spindlecell technique. [end]

    • What is Pauselock or Retentionmode? – Imagine a VCR, when we want to pause the tape we push the pause button. Likewise we use the Pause lock or Retention mode to lock the flow of energy. So the flow of energy is used as water behind a dam.In terms of hypnosis, we anchor the state that is remembered by the client (conscious and/or subconscious). The reactivation of the anchor and the reaction of the muscle test are measure for the impact the information anchored still is holding [end]

    • What is Body Scan? – The Body Scan is a specific way of muscle testing with focus on a physical part of the body. The nature of this testing basic procedure for any Applied/Specialized kinesiology muscle testing. The indication perceived is the motivation for further investigation and correction. The corrections performed based on these muscle test finding are crucial for effective balancing effects of the energy system of  the Body Mind Spirit Connection. [end]

    • What types of Localization are there? – There are two types of localization: Therapy Localization and Circuit Localization. With Therapy Localization we determine the instance that needs to be addressed and Circuit Localization is a type of pauselock / retention mode we use to extend the information we hold in pause lock with extra information in order to have a greater impact at the end. It is like pushing dirt in front of a bulldozer. [end]

    • What is Fix As You Go? – Muscle testing and – with that – finding the problem and the solution to the problem is what really makes the essence of Specialized Kinesiology. Balancing the Body Mind Spirit Connection has the  restoration of ones own homoestasis as it is best in the present environment in mind. Fixing the problems the way the Body Mind Spirit Connection it wants to be helped is the shortest way to recovery (Fix As You Go).  [end]

    • What is Surrogate muscle testing? – The Surrogate muscle test is a method  we use to trancefer the information of a system to a muscle test, so we can examine its properties and make the changes the intended system needs adjusted. This method can not do without the practize of pauselock or retentionmode. [end]

    • What is Emotional Stress Release? – Stress release is what specialized kinesiology is all about. Abnormal physical, mental, emotional, chemical, environmental and behavioral stress tend to bring use out of balance (out of homeostasis) and as such are cause of our problems. Every session (in training or during a consultation) in this field includes techniques to relieve some kind of stress.Emotional Stress Release is the release of emotion related stress. Various stress release techniques are used, such as emotional balancing, affirmations, visualization, massage techniques, and movement exercises.[end]

    • What is the centering system? – The Centering system is the system that keeps us in the Now. Cloacals is one of the three parts of the Centrering system. The other two are Gaits (the way we move) and the Hyoid bone (compare it with a gyroscope). An unbalanced centering system keeps you living everywhere but not in the Now. Since Now is this moment, the importance becomes clear as we realize that there is only Now.Cloacals has everything to do with our lymph and the correct flow of  lymph through the body.[end]
    • What is Seven Chi Key? – Seven Chi key [AP/Utt] is designed to balance the Indian Chakra system with the holding of identified combinations of Acupressure points. [end]
    • What is Cranials? – Everythings is in movement, so do cranials. But there is only one way and that is the right way. A trained practitioner can discern these movements and make the correction necessary to straighten the system. [end]

    • What is Hologram testing? – Hologram testing [AP/Utt] is the translation of the 14 organs in 14 position of a muscle test. Thereby showing a hologram of the Organ-circle [TCM] and the input this information holds. [end]

    • What is Neurovascular? – Dr. Terence Bennett identified one of his primary guiding principles to be the fact that “[P]ottinger and others had said that every internal organ, gland and tissue had either a direct or reflex connection with the surface of the body” (Bennett, p. 2. derived from Pottinger, “Symptoms of Visceral Disease,” C.V. Mosby, 1922). Based upon this proposition and other aspects of Western anatomy, physiology and his own clinical experience, he mapped out particular points on the body that he correlated with specific tissue, gland and organ function, and dysfunction.Bennett identified 38 specific points on the cranium and anterior torso that were used for diagnostic and/or treatment purposes. AK/SK practitioners use the cranium points.[end]

    • What is Neurolymphatic? – Dr. Frank Chapman, D.O., made a unique discovery in the 1930’s . The neurolymphatic reflexes or Chapman’s Reflexes were found by trial and error, poking and prodding the body. He mapped out reflex points to the organs and glands. When rubbing these points, he could effect the flushing of the lymphatic vessels of each individual organ and gland to strengthen its function. It was a remarkable discovery for the scientific community. Unfortunately, it is hardly a known fact and used very little as a self-care tool. Chapman’s Reflexes when rubbed with a standing circling movement detoxify the muscles and rid them of waste byproducts that cause pain and stiffness. This technique is used to help restore the muscles to balance and a healthier state of function. The reflexes are a very useful tool to know, as they can be done anywhere, anytime.[end]
